Servlet Engine Configuration
Use this screen to do the following tasks:
- Configure your Tomcat servlet engine with Apache.
- Deploy Info*Engine as a Web application using the following Web server and servlet engine combinations:
- Apache and Tomcat
- iPlanet and JRun
- IIS and JRun
The other combinations of Apache with JRun and of iPlanet or IIS with Tomcat are not supported for use with Info*Engine.
The PTC.Setup installation also does not support deployment using WebSphere or the embedded iPlanet servlet engine. You must manually deploy Info*Engine when you are using these servlet engines.
Completing these tasks through PTC.Setup is optional. If you select the servlet engine type of Other, neither task is done. In this case, you do not need to fill in any other fields on the screen. However, before you complete the Info*Engine installation, you must manually deploy Info*Engine.
To configure your Tomcat servlet engine with Apache, you must specify the following values in the indicated fields:
- Servlet Engine Type—select Tomcat
- Web Server Type—select Apache
In addition, you must fill in the other fields listed as described in the text that follows.
To deploy Info*Engine with your servlet engine, enter values in the following fields:
Servlet Engine Configuration
- Servlet Engine Type—identifies the type of servlet engine you have installed. Select either Tomcat or JRun.
If you choose Other, you must manually deploy Info*Engine with your servlet engine.
- Servlet Engine Home Directory—defines the full path to your servlet engine.
Web Server Information
- Web Server Network Address—identifies the network address of your Web server (for example, troy.ptc.com).
- Web Server Port Number—is the communications port number of your Web server.
- Web Server Type—identifies the type of Web server you have installed (for example, Apache).
- Server Home Directory—identifies information that is required when the Web server type is Apache or iPlanet:
- For the Apache on Windows, enter the Service Name for the Web server. The default service name is Apache.
- For the Apache on UNIX, enter the full path to the "Web Server Home".
- For iPlanet, enter the full https Directory Path. The HTTPS directory is located within the Web server directory. For example, the entry https-mexico is used for a Web server named mexico.ptc.com.
The Stop/Start server to complete the configuration check box authorizes PTC.Setup to restart the Web server. If you select this check box but PTC.Setup does not have the required permissions, you will need to manually stop and start your Web server after PTC.Setup completes.
